The List Representative – Happy Days. We met Veronica Lucchesi And Dario Mangiaracina in studies Sony to Milan on the occasion of the release of their fifth album.
In this chat the simplicity and honesty of the duo is revealed. They reopen the book of their songs, offering us reflections on how those lyrics, perhaps written in another phase, resonate with even more force today.
With a sincere look at the world we live in, they remind us how important it is to preserve our intimacy, keep our secrets and never stop looking for moments of truth, inside and outside of music.
How are your songs born?
Veronica:
There are notebooks where we pour out our thoughts, some phrases, some key words that we will perhaps like to find again at a certain point, it comes to mind, after having seen Harry Potter countless times with my sister who is a big fan, the Dumbledore's think tank where he leaves thoughts to keep them in memory and this happens, that is, they are small photographs for words, for images that we are marking. Sometimes they are actually even sketches. So there is a moment in which we turn to this large notebook and it is not certain that a song is born directly by reading the words. There were countless cases in which a melody arrived that was already called a type of metric and the theme was perhaps quite strong and clear within us, like we needed to talk about this thing specifically, about the end of the world, about immobility , of loneliness, of malice, of anger.
