Available on all major streaming and download platforms, but also in physical format (transparent vinyl), from Friday 8 November, NUOVOSPACIOTEMPO it is the third album of his career, as well as the first for Carosello Recordsby the Tuscan multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter and producer, born in 2000, Emma Nolde.
“NUOVOSPACIOTEMPO: the title is interstellar, but I'm talking about everyday time. In this contrast, I capture the nature of a historical moment in which not only the earth and the sky exist, but also Google Earth and iCloud. A contrast in which lies the key to our human being and which leads us, on a more collective level, to a NUOVOSPACIOTEMPO“, tells the Nolde who, for this journey, he wanted at his side Niccolo Fabi, Nayt And Mecna.
A meeting, theirs, of worlds apparently very different from each other, which however have in common the great ability to carefully weigh words.
Words that Emma use to describe “a common daily routine, in which I move back and forth, into the future and into the past, in no particular order“. And here it is”in Unknown I imagine what will happen in ten years; in Parallel Universe I imagine meeting my dad when he was my age; in Everything flows I ask the person I love to resist the speed of our times and in Never Stop I talk to a child about that same speed he will face one day“.
In short, on this album the Nolde talks about his very personal space-time, his family and his life which, “overwhelmed by the rhythms and high speed with which we experience things, today it takes on the features of a collective experience, becoming similar to the lives of others“.
EMMA NOLDE, “NUOVOSPACIOTEMPO”: THE REVIEW
NUOVOSPACIOTEMPO it is for Emma Nolde the album of maturity: a generational album, urgent, raw and direct, a mirror of these uncertain and neurotic times, of which it restores the speed and the consequent sense of disorientation.
We need to stop, look at the stars again, savor every moment, rediscover a “small grain of sand“, remember that “we are just passing through” and from here start again with the awareness that everything is less burdensome if shared, because between two the future is a little less scary (Point of view feat Niccolò Fabi And 2).
And fear is perhaps one of the central themes of this album, together with doubts and the many questions that cannot be answered. A new space. A new time. In short, new coordinates to escape the frenzy and the standards, now very high (“You've been making mistakes all your life, and in order not to disappoint others, you prefer to disappoint yourself“), of a mechanical life made up of home-work-home-television-bed-start again, which leaves us no escape and, precisely for this reason, seems to no longer belong to us and ends up flowing like sand through our fingers (Very quietly! And Point of view feat Niccolo Fabi).
“Will we ever be happy?”you ask Emma Nolde in the intro, and then take a leap into the future and comment: “Will we ever feel happier than now?”. But, what really makes us happy? (Intro And Unknown).
Emma Nolde he asks himself this, just as he questions himself about the concept of identity (who am I? what defines me?), without however forcing the answers, rather leaving it up to time to deliver them to us, in a continuous process of discovery and rediscovery of oneself (Question mark feat Nayt And Mecna).
THE CONCEPT OF TIME
“Panta rei“, “everything flows“, he said Heraclitus. Is nothing, therefore, destined to remain? The young singer-songwriter asks herself this question, trying at least to free human relationships from the wear and tear of time: “It seems to me that a 'disposable' attitude towards everything is very widespread but, at least with human relationships, I care about making things last. Whether in friendship or in love, it seems to me to be the only thing to really defend” (Everything flows).
And he also talks about time, or rather a race against time Never Stopsong in which Emma addresses the issue of hyper-productivity, taking a clear and decisive position: “I see something around me that isn't working. I see people I love going at supersonic speed that doesn't help anyone. I see red eyes, tired from the screens. I see trips to the beach canceled in favor of work, because the deadline is always near. But, what is the purpose of all this?“.
Certainly, the Nolde He doesn't want a life like this, despite admitting that he's up to his neck in it, and – precisely for this reason – he rolls up his sleeves, rebelling against the system and loudly shouting his truth, a truth that makes one profoundly free.
