The ballet of guitarists in Bob Dylan's live band continues. At PNC Pavilion Cincinnati and Stage AE in Pittsburgh, a new musician was seen on stage. This is Jad Tariq, who replaced Julian Lage who in turn had replaced Doug Lancio. Lage was unable to play longer with Dylan due to prior commitments. In the meantime, Joel Paterson had joined the band, replacing Bob Britt.
Tariq, 29, is another musician with a retro style, specializing in jazz, swing and jump blues. In addition to playing the guitar, he sings and will release his new album in September Precious Company. Obviously there is no certainty as to whether he has entered the lineup permanently or not. Maybe no one knows. It is known that Lage has some concerts scheduled in the United States in the autumn, while Dylan will be on tour in Europe (no dates in Italy are scheduled for now).
Between June and July alone, five guitarists performed with Dylan. With Tariq the total list of guitarists who have played with him on tour or on particularly memorable occasions, such as Mike Bloomfield in Newport, reaches 36.
