It may have seemed unlikely, but Ted Lasso is back. The fourth season will mark the titular character’s return to the pitch, but this time, he’ll be coaching AFC Richmond’s women’s team for a new challenge after the highs and lows of running the men’s team.
A lot of the gang is back — Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca, Juno Temple’s Keeley, Brett Goldstein’s Roy, and Brendan Hunt’s Coach Beard are among the returning cast members. Tanya Reynolds’ Alice Chilton is one of the new additions, who will join Lasso’s coaching staff.

Just like in the good old days, the series will be streaming weekly, rather than dumped on Apple TV all at once. That means fans will need to break out their Sharpie and calendar (or their iPhone) for the show, which airs weekly on Wednesdays. That said, fans can tune in early, as the series often drops new episodes at 9 p.m. ET the night before. The season finale of the ten-episode run will air on Oct. 7.
For new or returning subscribers, Apple TV (the streamer formerly known as Apple TV+) is available with a seven-day free trial, and costs $12.99/mo. thereafter. The streaming service is also available as a bundle with the ad-supported tier of Peacock for $14.99/mo., or the ad-free tier of Peacock for $19.99/mo.
It remains to be seen whether Ted Lasso will recapture some of the magic that made it such a massive streaming hit, given the three-year gap between this and the last season and the uneven way it ended. In case you need a refresher, Season Three ended with Lasso leaving London, Roy Kent taking over coaching duties, and Rebecca selling a 49% stake in the team back to the fans.
None of the cast officially indicated that the third season would be the last, and while the finale certainly seemed to tie up loose ends, it also teased the possibility of an AFC Richmond women’s team. And now, here we are.
