September he arrived at Giffoni Film Festival 2026 with the enthusiasm and curiosity of those who, years ago, had experienced the festival as spectators and today return as protagonists. He is one of the most anticipated musical guests of the day and this evening he will take the stage in Piazza Lumière to present his music to the public. To the microphones of All Music Italy interviewed him Sveva.
September in Giffoni: from the audience to the stage
The first thing he talks about is the emotion of being in Giffoni for the first time as a guest.
“I'm very happy to be here. It's the first time I've come to Giffoni as a guest and I'm very happy.”
A connection with the festival which, however, comes from afar. September recalled that he had already been to Giffoni years ago, when he still lived there as a boy among the public.
“I came when I was little to see what Giffoni was. I remember that there were the actors from the series and films that I followed most at the time. It was a great discovery, so coming back here today is wonderful.”
“Due weeks”, the new single and the theme of love bombing
The artist is ready to bring his new path to the Piazza Lumière stage, starting from the latest single Two weeksreleased a few weeks ago. When asked what film it would be from, if the song were a film, he replied smiling:
“It would be a romantic comedy, but a sad one. A love film that ends badly.”
The song talks about contemporary love and the way in which his generation experiences feelings, starting from the theme of love bombing. When asked if today we have become accustomed to loving faster, Settembre explained:
“We are a generation that does everything very quickly. Even expressing affection towards a person too quickly can have consequences for the other person.”
The sounds of the Eighties and the influences of September
Speaking of music, he talked about his relationship with the sounds of the Eighties, one of the influences that characterize his new path.
“I had the dream, in the album I'm making, of putting a track that had that flavor. Those sounds fascinate me a lot.”
A musical world full of references and contaminations, where seemingly distant worlds coexist. Among the artists who influenced his career he cites very different names:
“In my music there are all Billie Eilish's albums, without a shadow of a doubt. Then Pino Daniele, Frank Ocean, SZA, Lucio Battisti. I express my personality with music, and there is so much of me in my music.”
September and the dream of abroad
During the interview Settembre also spoke about his relationship with foreign countries and about Italian music, which in his opinion is still little known outside the borders.
“Italian music is undervalued abroad. We are known above all for opera, but it would be nice if outsiders also knew the music that exists in Italy today.”
Towards the album and the question about Sanremo 2027
Two weeks after all, it is only the starting point of a broader project.
“Two weeks is the beginning of the album I'm writing. The cover is the representation of this message of restart, because it's a leap. Now I'm writing a lot of music.”
During the interview we also talked about Sanremo 2027: will send a piece to Stefano De Martino?
