SEM&STÈNN they start from “Animal” after three years of sound research
With Animalthe duo returns to move between electropop, club culture and queer imagery. These elements characterized the project Sem&Stènn from the very beginning. The new single was born after a period dedicated to experimentation and the construction of a new sonic identity, developed starting from the dance-pop influences of the early 2000s and enriched by techno and hyperpop suggestions.
The result is a song built for the club dimension, where desire, movement and instinct become the center of the narrative. The song looks to the dance floor without giving up the identity component that has always accompanied the artistic path of Sem&Stènn.
The duo presents the new single
Speaking of the song, Savior And Stephen they explain that “Animale was born from a strong desire for freedom and lightness, from the need to strip away any type of convention, to rediscover a primordial, instinctive, animal state. This song represents the concept of our new album at its best“.
The duo then reveals: “Being so far away from clubs and live shows has stimulated in us the desire to create new Party Anthems, inspired by the dance-pop of the 2000s and contaminated by techno and hyperpop sounds, which tell the story of our present“.
These words also clarify the direction of the next recording project, of which Animal represents the first official chapter.
Rome Pride 2026: live debut for “animal”
The first opportunity to listen to the song live will come immediately after its release. The June 20, 2026, Sem&Stènn they will in fact be among the artists involved in Rome Pridean event that attracts thousands of people to the capital every year.
The duo will participate in both the afternoon's Grand Parade and the Pride Croisette events organized at the Baths of Caracalla. It will be the first official stage for Animaldestined to become one of the central pieces of the new live repertoire.
From X Factor to “Animal”: the path of SEM&STÈNN
Born artistically in Milanese clubs such as Rocket and Plastic, Sem&Stènn they make themselves known to the general public in 2017 thanks to your participation in X Factor Italywhere they reach the final stage of the talent.
In the 2018 they release their debut album Offbeatwhich reaches the top of the electronic chart of iTunes and contains collaborations with Manuel Agnelli And Populous. In the following years the duo developed a production increasingly oriented towards Italian, moving on to songs such as KO And OKAY up to the albums Agarthi and to the EP Heroespublished in 2023.
