Black Friday is bringing some of the best deals on streaming services, including add-ons to Amazon Prime. Sports fans looking to save on streaming services can take advantage on a number of streaming deals, including savings on live-streaming through Fubo. ESPN+ is also running a Black Friday promotion, effectively giving fans a year of ESPN+ for the cost of 9 months when they sign up for an annual plan.
The ESPN+ annual subscription, normally $119.99/yr, is $99.99/yr for the first year. The offer is available to new and returning subscribers, and the offer ends on Dec. 2.
Here’s what you need to know to get started ESPN+, from how much it costs, to what is (and isn’t) included on the streaming service.
What Is ESPN+?
ESPN+ is ESPN’s online streaming subscription service and app, which lets sports fans watch live and on-demand content, including tournaments, games, and sports series on their devices without needing a traditional cable TV plan.
However, it’s important to note that while ESPN+ includes tons of great sports content, you won’t be able to watch ESPN live — for that, you’ll need a cable plan or a subscription to a live streaming service, such as Fubo, DirecTV Stream, or Sling.
How Much Does ESPN+ Cost?
ESPN+ costs $11.99 per month for its standard package. This is a great option if you only want to catch certain seasons or specific tournaments.
ESPN+ also offers an annual package, which normally costs $119.99 for the entire year, but is available for $99.99/mo during Black Friday. This effectively reverts the price to what it was just a couple of years ago.
What Can You Watch on ESPN+?
ESPN‘s streaming app is one of your best options for watching exclusive events and live sports online, from events like the Australian Open to NHL games and even college sports. But you’ll also be able to stream shows and even ESPN’s acclaimed 30 for 30 documentary series.
ESPN+ also includes HD streaming on your phone, and the streaming service is available on most major devices, including Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, Playstation, and Roku, and you can stream content using Airplay or Chromecast.
Is There an ESPN+ Free Trial?
ESPN+ doesn’t currently offer a free trial deal, meaning the best way to score a discount on ESPN+ is with the streamer’s Black Friday promotion.
ESPN+: Best Deals, Discounts and Bundles
You can also save on ESPN+ by bundling the streamer with other packages, such as the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle. The bundle starts at $16.99/mo for all three streamers, a substantial savings compared to signing up for each individually. Disney+ is also running a promotion that drops the price of its Disney+ Hulu bundle to just $2.99/mo for 12 months, though ESPN+ is not included in this package.
Another ESPN+ deal: Verizon customers on one of the company’s Verizon Unlimited packages can get ESPN+ as a myPlan perk for just $10 a month.
