The relationship between Robbie Williams and Oasis has always been peculiar. They hated each other (Liam called him “the fat dancer from Take That” at the time), challenged each other (Robbie offered Liam a 1 on 1 for 100 thousand pounds), but also loved and, always and in any case, teased each other.
The Oasis reunion was therefore a golden opportunity for Robbie to say something about the Gallagher brothers. “It's going to be a soap opera to watch, whether it's exciting or macabre,” the artist said. “And the shows? They're going to be incredible, off the scale.” He added: “It's going to be a healing moment for the country.”
William went on to celebrate Liam's coolness: “Liam Gallagher reading his phone on the toilet would be more charismatic and intriguing than 99.9% of the world's population at their best. All he has to do is stand there and sing for the audience to know their money was well spent.” But, as a good Englishman, he didn't miss the opportunity for a dig, this time at Noel, belittled in front of his brother: “Oh yeah, Noel will be there too.”
