Rareș come back with Catsthe new single out for Panic Discs which anticipates Sincere!the album arriving on May 15th. A light song only in appearance, which tells of that strange and liberating moment that comes after the end of a relationship.
The piece comes later Robina and adds a new piece to the emotional story of the new album, which will be presented live for the first time on May 22nd at YOU LOVE ME of Milan.
The meaning of Cats Of Rareș
In Cats, Rareș focuses on the relief that can come after a breakup. Not anger, not nostalgia. Rather the sensation of breathing again, almost with surprise.
The heart of the song is all in one sentence:
“I thought I was the way I wanted to be / and instead it's the complete opposite of what I wanted”.
Simple but precise writing, which avoids unnecessary turns and gets straight to the point. The song moves between summer images, bicycles, sand, asphalt and that desire to get moving again after feeling stuck.
Even musically the piece follows this direction: bright synths, dynamic drums and a sax that accompanies the chorus making it even more open and immediate.
