We welcome with fascinating brutality the new invitation of the Putrad offal to enter their very personal anatomical laboratory. The Death-Grind Band Transalpina reaches the third publication on the long distance following the resumption of the activities that took place in 2013. The Douch-Les-Smine group (in the north of France), built in the distant 90, after a series of split in which he had put on the plate the vagites of an earthquake capacity in juggling the vortices 'splatter' already poured by the first Carcass (“Reek of putrefaction”) and Napalm Death (“Harmony Corruption” and “Utopia Banished”), had been put in a sort of amorphous state, waiting for yet another explosion, or simply new inspirations.
The story therefore brings us to 2015 when the offal putrids return to hurt, crushing, leaving a lasting impact. It first thought about “mature necropsy” to put the putrid frattaglie back to circulation; For his “Sichnesses Obsessions”, released five years later, he brought further rot to the French proposal, with a job focused on the figure of Andrea Vesalio, considered the founder of modern anatomy. But, as often happens, it is the third work that had to place the definitive seal, and the present “Oblitated life” has definitely repaid the expectations.
Traveling once again with the time machine, Franck Peiffer and his companions bring us directly to the battlefields, to explore the sad reality of emergency medicine, with a very personal sound revisitation of Dominique-Jean Larrey, a French doctor, who served as a surgeon head in the army of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Fourteen tracks that well outline the carnage of the war and the work done by Larrey himself, between amputations of limbs, projects of bullets and sutures of bowels, where the blood and the stench of septic meat were the real protagonists of those tragic moments. The putrid offals, in a dizzying and frenetic assault of riffs and impetuous changes of rhythm they fully represent the pitiful picture presented in the eyes of the French surgeon, offering us a ruthless auditory experience. With “Darkness Awaits”, “Privilege of Pain” and “The Black Veil” to guide the most devastating impact of the overall lot, it is the explosive mines “Agony Prevails” and “Blues rebecage” that creates the right size of the general chaos that was going to breathe during the interventions.
“Oblitated Life” has the advantage of knowing how to massacre the ear pavilions thanks to its ability to remain dynamic and floating in its brutal aggression, avoiding falling into an easy and chaotic assault on the white weapon. Take the two initial tracks in this regard, “The Sweet Fragrance” and “Boning Hall”: both in their short duration (they do not reach two minutes), they manage to overwhelm the listener through a specific melodic line, so as to create the right appeal, clinging with their teeth to the continuous rhythmic movement, effectively raising a devastating sound wall but in its own way; Performant structure that takes its most splashing shape in the subsequent “Life Consumed”.
Deadly episodes that highlight the experience gained over the years by the Putrid offal who, while shooting a few cartridges, have hit the goal in full.
