Pino D'Angiò – Funky Maestro
His son Francesco remembers his father and presents the project:
“Being able to experience Pino as a parent was a privilege that is difficult to explain.
Artistically, between genius, culture and irony, he influenced over 40 years of scene and musical genres. He always wanted to stay away from the spotlight, he was an anti-star, a dark innovator.
From funky to rap, from disco to trance: today dad's sound is everywhere. Untouchable. Needless to say, this EP has a particular meaning and flavor. It is the last unreleased project that Pino, or rather, dad, had fun with in the studio.
The strength to go into the room and create joy was stronger than the rest. Only a giant like him could have achieved something like that despite everything”.
Although illness and health problems forced him to stop for eleven years, last February he returned to the Ariston stage.
On the evening of the covers of the last Sanremo Festival accepted the invitation of the Bnkr44 and participates as their guest performing in But what an idea a revised version of But what idea?.
The song, certified platinum, achieved great success both on the radio and on digital platforms, making the new generations rediscover his discographic repertoire.
