Paolo Milanesi, trumpeter and collaborator of La Crus, has died.
Milanesi graduated from the Milan Conservatory in 1988, later specializing in jazz music. Since the 1990s he had begun to collaborate assiduously with La Crus, participating in the albums Dentro Me, Dietro la curva del cuore, Crocevia, and Every thing I see. He also used to perform with the band, as happened on the Milanese date of September 3 at the Castello Sforzesco.
In addition to La Crus, Milanesi has collaborated with Paolo Fresu, Carmen Consoli, Tullio De Piscopo, Enrico Rava and Fabrizio Bosso. He was also a teacher at the Iqbal Mash comprehensive institute in Pioltello in Milan.
Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi remembers him like this on Facebook: «Hi Paolino. You had a desire for life like no one ever. Kind and delicate soul like the sound of your trumpet. But why do you too so early? Why? As I write, these words seem so useless to me and cannot explain a thousandth of what I feel. An infinite hug.”
