Oasis intend to wage war on ticket scalpers and those who buy tickets to resell on the secondary market at a higher price.
In a message posted on social media, the group made it clear that any ticket that will be purchased (sales opened today) and resold at a higher price will be cancelled, without specifying through which systems.
“We have noticed,” Oasis wrote on social media, “that since the pre-sales began, there have been people trying to sell tickets on the secondary market.” Tickets for as much as 1200 euros have actually appeared on platforms like StubHub. “Please be aware,” the band's message continues, “tickets can ONLY be resold at face value and via Ticketmaster and Twickets. Tickets sold in violation of the terms and conditions will be voided by the promoters.”
Among the many discussions raised by the reunion, there are those about the audience that will go to see them. After reading various messages from old fans who are angry with the younger fans who will go to see the reunion concerts because they only know Wonderwall or a few other songs, and hope not to see “little girls” in the stadiums, Anaïs Gallagher, Noel's 24-year-old daughter, had her say.
“One thing I can't stand,” she says on TikTok, “is the ageism and misogyny towards those who buy tickets” to the concerts. “Sorry if a 19-year-old girl wearing a pink cowboy hat wants to be there. I'll have my friendship bracelets ready,” the ones typically used by fans at Taylor Swift concerts. That this is not a reunion designed only for old nostalgic fans is evident: we wrote about it here.
Given the reunion, it has been announced that the official Oasis biopic Supersonicreleased in 2016, will return to Italian theaters for one day. It will be available to watch next September 16.
