Nothing reunion For Faith no more: Mike Patton does not want to return to the stage with the band. To clarify the situation was the drummer Mike Bordin, who updated the fans with rather direct words: “He went from not feeling ready to not want to make concerts with us anymore”.
The return of the Faith no more seemed a matter of time: after the postponement of the reunion tour scheduled for 2020, caused by the pandemic, the fans hoped for a recovery of the 75 dates announced. However, the project has run over. Officially, the final cancellation was attributed to Mike Patton's mental health problems, to which Agoraphobia had been diagnosed. Despite this, Patton then returned to perform live with another of his projects, Mr. Bungle, leaving many suspended questions.
“We chose to support him, all together – said Bordin – although knowing that canceling 75 concerts would have overwhelmed us with criticisms. Nobody, however, wanted to force him to do something for which he did not feel ready. There has never been a real discussion”. Over time, however, the situation has evolved. And not for the better. “There is a big difference between not feeling ready and no longer wanting to make them, those concerts. And he has now gone to this second phase,” Bordin admitted, leaving disappointment and bitterness to leaning.
“We had tried for six months for those dates (in September/October 2021, editor's note]. We had instrumental tests and played incredibly well. I mean, the bass player said: 'I've never heard us play so well. This is how these songs played in my mind. ' It had never happened before playing so well on album, live, or anything else. We were ready, we were prepared. Then, when the equipment was already on the truck and was leaving for Chicago, 36 hours before we had to get on stage, Mike did not show up for the test, the only test we would do with him “.
As for the relationships within the group, the communication seems to be reduced to a minimum. “We haven't talked much about this thing. And this weighs me. Honestly, it hurts me. But it is an internal fact. At the moment we find ourselves in a strange position. I receive versions other than different people … and I am in the band,” he concluded.
