Oliver Tree died in a helicopter crash on Sunday. In the days that followed, many artists paid tribute to the artist, such as Tommy Cash who thanked him for “going beyond barriers, for always being yourself, for pushing me to overcome my limits”, or Kid Cudi who in a short message defined him as “a magnificent person”.
Another alternative personality from the world of contemporary music has been added to this list, Melanie Martinez, who had a relationship with Oliver Tree between 2019 and 2020.
“I was really torn up today,” Martinez wrote in an Instagram story. «It is really difficult to understand how someone with whom you once shared such a particular and formative period of your life can suddenly disappear» «He was so dedicated to his art, and I admired and respected him deeply. I think everyone who knew him will think back to those moments of laughter and joy that he knew how to inspire so easily.”
The artist continued: «His laugh was contagious. His ability to be a creative leader and take action while maintaining a childlike sense of wonder and amazement was truly inspiring. He had such a sweet heart. He was a real artist.”
Martinez then concluded: «I know you are making the angels laugh now. And I wonder what creative project you are carrying out up there in heaven.”
