A Måneskin reunion at the Sanremo Festival 2027. Or rather: the complete return of the Roman band, which officially never broke up, despite the various solo projects of its members. The hypothesis has been relaunched by an indiscretion collected by the Adnkronos agency, according to which the return of the Roman band to the Ariston would be part of the broader renewal project that the new artistic director and host Stefano De Martino is preparing.
Two elements above all make the scenario plausible. The first concerns the presence in De Martino's musical team of Fabrizio Ferraguzzo, a manager who accompanied Måneskin on their international journey. The second is linked to the changes that are being studied for the Festival regulations. According to Adnkronos, the idea would be to reduce the number of competitors and introduce a new competitive evening dedicated to choosing the Italian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest. This “competition within the competition”, placed before the evening of the covers and the final, would see the artists perform with settings, choreographies and costumes designed for an international context, on the model of the European event. The selection for Eurovision would therefore be separated from the final victory of the Festival, marking a significant change in the structure of Sanremo.
In this context, the return of Måneskin would take on a symbolic as well as media value. The band, in fact, represents one of the greatest Italian successes in the recent history of Eurovision thanks to the victory obtained in 2021, and could become the ideal face to inaugurate the new course of the event.
The reunion would also have a particular meaning for the group itself. Although Måneskin have never announced an official dissolution, in recent years the four members have undertaken autonomous artistic paths: Damiano David has launched a solo career in pop, Victoria De Angelis has established herself as an international DJ, Thomas Raggi has developed rock-oriented projects and Ethan Torchio has dedicated himself to composing soundtracks. A break that allowed everyone to explore new creative paths, without however erasing the weight and recognisability of the Måneskin brand on a global level.
For this reason, according to Adnkronos' analysis, a reunion at the Ariston would represent an advantageous opportunity for both parties: on the one hand it would offer the band the ideal stage to get back together in front of the general public, on the other it would guarantee the Festival an event of strong international appeal capable of accompanying the launch of the new features planned for the 2027 edition.
At the moment there are no official confirmations, but the connection between the Festival's reform project and the possible return of the band fuels a hypothesis which, from a simple suggestion, is taking on ever greater consistency.
The last album released by Måneskin, “Rush!”, dates back to 2023. In the meantime, Damiano David made his solo debut with “Funny Little Fears”, while bassist Victoria focused on DJ sets and collaborations that received good commercial feedback, although far from the global numbers achieved with Måneskin.
