Litfiba return to play in their Florence with one of the most anticipated dates of the “Forty Years of 17 Kings – Tour 2026”. The appointment is for Thursday 23 July at the Prato delle Cornacchie in the Parco delle Cascine, where Piero Pelù, Ghigo Renzulli, Antonio Aiazzi and Gianni Maroccolo will go on stage together again in the historic line-up of the Eighties to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of “17 Re”, one of the most influential albums in the history of Italian rock.
The tour, made up of 20 concerts, represents a unique opportunity to relive live over two hours of music that marked an era. The setlist offers for the first time the complete performance of “17 Re”, alongside some of the most beloved songs from the band's repertoire, including “Istanbul”, “Santiago”, “Eroi nel vento”, “La preda”, “Tex” and “Cangaceiro”. The last tickets for the Florentine date are still available on the official MC2 Live and Vivaticket circuits.
The possible lineup of the Litfiba concert
On stage, the Tuscan band offers a selection of songs focused above all on the successful new wave period of the 80s, which will delight historical fans. The tour schedule is not fixed, but it is likely that the live performance will follow the one performed on July 11th in Asti, with a route that completely passes through “17 Kings” and some of the most famous songs from Pelù and his companions' repertoire. This is the possible lineup of the Litfiba concert in Florence.

The live album
The tour will also give life to a new recording project. In fact, “17 Re Live 1986-2026” will be released on November 27th, an album recorded during the tour and already available for pre-order in CD and double LP format. The album will contain all the live versions of the songs from “17 Re”, in addition to the title track “17 Re”, which was left out of the original 1986 tracklist and released only this year on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary, after having become a true cult piece for fans over the years.
Released in 1986 as a double album (reduced to a single only for the French edition), “17 Re” represents the highest point of Litfiba's first artistic phase. Second chapter of the “Trilogy of power”, inaugurated with “Desaparecido” and completed by “Litfiba 3”, the album addresses the theme of the victims of power through texts that still retain a surprising relevance today. On a musical level, the album contributed to redefining Italian rock by merging post-punk, new wave, dark suggestions and ethnic influences in a pioneering way, imposing the Florentine band also on the European scene.
Forty years after its publication, “17 Kings” continues to demonstrate its expressive power. His songs have passed through time without losing intensity, firmly entering the songbook of Italian rock and influencing generations of musicians and listeners. It is precisely this extraordinary ability to still speak to the present that makes the celebratory tour much more than a simple nostalgia operation: an opportunity to rediscover a work that changed the rules of rock in our country.

The meaning of the reunion
Forty years after the release of “17 Re“, Litfiba record the reunion of the historic formation of the 1980s. After the publication of the unreleased “17 Re”, which was excluded from the original album at the time and subsequently released as a maxi-single, and after the reissues of “17 Re” and the live “12/5/87 (Aprite i Vostri Occhi)”, the Florentine band now announces a new live album recorded during the ongoing celebratory tour.
“17 Re 1986-2026” will be released on November 27th on CD and double LP and will document the twenty dates of the tour inaugurated last month in Perugia. Piero Pelù, Ghigo Renzulli, Antonio Aiazzi and Gianni Maroccolo are back together on stage, protagonists of the formation that gave life to one of the symbolic records of Italian rock of the 1980s. The live concert includes, for the first time in the group's history, the complete performance of “17 Re”, also accompanied by the title track of the same name later released as a single. The album is already available for pre-order.
The meaning of Pelù and companions' project arises from the desire to update the contents of those works. “17 Kings” becomes an explicit reflection on the contemporary balance of power, between technocracy, global conflicts and democracies in danger. “It's not a nostalgic operation – explains Pierò Pelù – This is demonstrated by the song that was born from the ashes of the ancient song excluded from the album. The melodies, parts of the lyrics, the harmony quite intact, but in reality everything has changed: rhythm, bits, groove and spirit”. The idea of the publication took shape with the celebrations for the forty years of the album, released in 1986, during which the band announced 20 dates with the original lineup (Piero Pelù, Ghigo Renzulli, Antonio Aiazzi, Gianni Maroccolo), something that hadn't happened since 2014.
