On the eve of the record-breaking concert, Last he speaks to his people. Just over twenty-four hours from Ultimo 2026 – The fairy tale foreverthe event scheduled for Saturday 4 July at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, the singer-songwriter has published an open letter to his audience on social media. An intimate text, which starts from the fans and ends up talking about himself, about Niccolò, about the child who promised to defend her shyness in Montesagro.
While the “city of Ultimo” takes shape in Tor Vergata, ready to welcome 250 thousand people in an area of over 150 thousand square meters, the artist chooses the words to tell what it means to get here. The letter arrives after another gesture that marked the eve, the dress rehearsal open to people with disabilities.
The general test open to people with disabilities
On Thursday 2 July, two days before the event, the doors of Tor Vergata opened for the first time 1500 people with disabilities who had requested to attend the dress rehearsal of the show. The management of the applications was entrusted to the association Friendly Hands Onlus. Under the stage, a sign with the writing “thank you for making us first” welcomed the singer-songwriter.
On social media, the profile of Last Records he commented on the evening thus:
“Last night the doors of the dress rehearsal were opened for the first time to all people with disabilities who requested it. The emotion in your eyes is something we will never be able to forget, which is why we will do everything to ensure that yesterday was not just a first time, but the first of many others. It's a promise”.
The attention towards spectators with disabilities also continues on July 4th, with over fifty operators dedicated to accompaniment and assistance, while facilitated access is also provided for pregnant women.
Ultimo's letter to his people
A few hours before the concert, Last he entrusted a long message to social media, accompanied by images of a shared journey. This is the full text of the letter:
I don't know where the songs come from, from what magical world they manage to make themselves known, or sometimes even just glimpsed. I surfed on this anomalous wave that they call success, it came towards me while I simply thought I was taking a peaceful dip on the shore. In reality, I always knew that sooner or later I would experience what I experience today, and it's not presumption, it's feeling. I felt it when I went to piano lessons in Montesagro, when I caressed my shyness and promised her that I would defend her. I believe that to do great things you necessarily have to start as a child. I mean that vision, while everyone is chasing something else, is somehow already clear.
And you don't know why, but you already know that it will go like this, exactly how you imagine it. And then with your head on the desk, staring at the white scribbled wall, the bell rings and while everyone is happy to finally go home, you wait for them to leave, because you want to better understand what game is being played, you wait sitting there and watch everyone return, everyone runs and shouts something you've never heard of, you are protected only by your skin and by the crazy dream of making others live in your songs, so reserved, so naked, until you realize that you didn't put anything else in that song than your shyness and your rebellion.
Today I have lived in that vision for ten years. Every day I wonder how it was possible. It is as if all of you have responded today to a call that I made to you twenty years ago. I was little, but anyone who saw me grow knows it. I told everyone that my songs would help save the world. Obviously I was small and made everything bigger. Yet, Nino, I still believe you. I believe you. And maybe we haven't changed and won't change the world, but we can say that we have a sea of people who have understood that if the world is what we have inside, then you have truly saved it.
This letter that I started writing for all of you who follow me, I'm actually realizing that it's going to talk about Niccolò. But I don't want to eliminate or adjust the shot. Do you know why? Because it's not a coincidence. Because if when speaking about you I spontaneously spoke about myself, then this means that we are most likely the same thing. And so thank you all. Thank you. Thank you because I didn't want a life similar to the one I'm living. I wanted exactly this life here. With love and deep connection.
