Speak now or forever remain silent: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are married! The singer-songwriter and the Kansas City Chiefs player celebrated their wedding in a ceremony on July 3, 2026 at Madison Square Garden, as confirmed by Rolling Stone.
The couple had no bridesmaids or best men in the traditional sense. In their place, Taylor's brother, Austin Swift, filled the role of “Man of Honor“, while Jason Kelce was the groomsman. Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
Both Swift, 36, and Kelce wore wedding dresses designed by Jonathan Anderson for Christian Dior Haute Couture.
As expected, the big event was packed with musicians, from Swift's closest collaborators, Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, to music industry closest friends like Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, the Haim sisters, Sombr, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, Joe Don Rooney of Rascal Flatts and Maren Morris.
Also among the guests were some of Swift's closest friends, including Abigail Andersen, Ashley Avignone, Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham and Zoë Kravitz. Karlie Kloss was also present with her husband Joshua Kushner, a surprise after rumors of a breakdown in her and Swift's friendship.
In addition to the world of music, Swift also wanted to invite several celebrities with whom she has formed a bond over the years, such as Mariska Hargitay of Law & Order: SVU. Dakota Johnson, Julianne Moore, Ethan Hawke, Hugh Grant, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day and Jessica Chastain contributed to the already impressive lineup of stars. Golden Globes host and longtime Swift fan Nikki Glaser also received an invitation, as did the host of Tonight Showv, Jimmy Fallon.
Of course, numerous athletes were present on Kelce's side, including his teammates from the Kansas City Chiefs and thehead coach Andy Reid. Other NFL players were also there, including Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. Kelce also invited two famous sports commentators, Erin Andrews and Greg Olsen, both former NFL players. Abby Wambach, present with her wife Glennon Doyle, represented football, while NFL commissioner Roger Goodell took part in the festivities.
In recent months there had been rumors about the location, the guest list and many other details. The New York Times reported that the couple would host “an intimate gathering with approximately 100 people” on Thursday, July 2, and that a larger event with “approximately 1,000 guests” would be held the following day, citing “an entertainment industry executive and another person familiar with the matter.”
Amtrak police officers in charge of Penn Station, which is located beneath Madison Square Garden, confirmed to the newspaper that they had been “warned to expect a Taylor Swift wedding on the Fourth of July weekend.” Some New York Police Department officers had also declared a Variety that they were “informed of a possible influx of Taylor Swift fans, paparazzi and onlookers” around the facility on July 3. The Times had also reported that a permit had been requested to close the roads around the location from July 2nd until midday on July 4th, with inevitable repercussions on traffic during the long Independence Day weekend.
The couple, who met in 2023, announced their engagement last August through their social accounts, where Swift had joked by writing: “Your English teacher and your physical education teacher are getting married.”
Swift said she first became interested in the Kansas City Chiefs player when he mentioned her “adorably” on his podcast New Heights. “I found it incredibly rock,” he told Time in a rare interview in 2023. «We started dating soon after. So we really had a pretty long period where no one knew anything, and I'm grateful for that, because it allowed us to really get to know each other.”
In 2024 Kelce took the stage at Wembley Stadium during the segment dedicated to The Tortured Poets Department of the Eras Tour. For his part, Swift had attended several Chiefs games, including the 2024 and 2025 Super Bowls (won by the Chiefs in 2024).
Swift described their romance as something straight out of a movie. “I felt like I was in a John Hughes film from the 1980s, with him under my window with a boombox simply saying: 'I want to go out with you,'” he told New Heights announcing his twelfth album, The Life of a Showgirl. “It's exactly the kind of story I've been writing songs about since I was a teenager, hoping it would happen to me one day.”
«When I say it was all so natural, I mean that we fell in love simply because of the people we were, being in the same room together. We are two cheerful people who have the right values and appreciate others for who they are. We share all this. And everything just exploded from there,” Kelce said a GQ.
But before the celebrations began, the couple decided to make a donation of $26 million to be distributed to 20 charities in the United States, as confirmed to Rolling Stone from a Swift spokesperson. The benefiting organizations are located in cities that have a personal connection to Swift and Kelce. These include the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, The Store in Nashville, Helping Harvest in Swift's hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania, Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City and Harvesters – The Community Food Network, After-School All-Stars in Kelce's hometown of Cleveland, as well as several national organizations such as Feeding America, ASPCA, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and Grammy In The Schools.
Dolly Parton thanked the couple on social media for the $2 million donation to her foundation and, jokingly, asked for their first child in exchange. “That will be a truly special child,” he wrote ironically.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding was preceded by a much more intimate rehearsal dinner, held Thursday evening. The evening was attended by Jack Antonoff, Lena Dunham, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper and many of Swift's closest friends, including Jonathan Anderson.
