With a press release, the TAR (Regional Administrative Court) for Liguria declared illegitimate the “direct” entrustment to Rai, by the Municipality of Sanremo, of the organization of the Italian Song Festival (years 2024/2025). Repubblica writes it.
Everything remains unchanged for the next edition, staged in February in the Ligurian town. But from the following year the Municipality of Sanremo will have to proceed with a public tender in which the other interested operators will participate. And this could lead to the demonstrations moving to other locations.
A ruling which, as reported by the newspaper, differentiates the Italian Song Festival brand from the format we know. The appeal comes from the president of the Italian record companies who filed an appeal against the Municipality and Rai regarding the granting of exclusive use of the “Festival della Song Italiana” trademark.
But, this year, everything remains as it is: «It would obviously be disproportionate and unreasonable to affect the edition of the Festival already held and the edition that will take place in a few months».
In short, this time too, there is no Festival without controversy.
