A light rain welcomes fans of Iron & Wine outside Huxleys Neue Welt in Berlin, but the atmosphere inside is anything but gloomy: the soft lights and welcoming intimacy of the venue create a perfect prelude to an evening of music. On stage, Sam Beamheart and soul of Iron & Wine, presents himself with his classic sober but charismatic presence, capable of capturing the audience with a few glances and the first notes.
The audience connects with each piece, captured by the lyrics full of irony, tenderness and a hint of melancholy. The new album Light Verse represents a musical and thematic turning point: compared to previous works, in this album Beam seems to want to celebrate the lightness of life, a new acceptance that emerges from the songs in a perfect balance between optimism and awareness.
At the end of the evening, the audience leaves theHuxley's New World visibly satisfied, with the feeling of having shared something unique and intimate with an artist who, after seven years of silence, returns with a work capable of embracing the world with a new serenity. Beam created an intense and intimate atmosphere, shaping an evening that was not just a concert, but an emotional journey.
