Sunday 21 June. Unfortunately the last day has arrived, the nostalgia is already making itself felt but we are ready to enjoy it until the end.
We leave after recovering from the heat in the afternoon with the President.
Let's then move on to the Scourthe well-known black metal supergroup that fills the Temple without even struggling.
Despite the heat that has now become a fixed element of this day, we return to Mainstage 2 for the first taste of metalcore of the day with the Black Veil Brideswhich open with the Dracula theme song, immediately calling the audience to gather under the stage.
Andy Biersackthe singer, jokes about the intense heat by exclaiming “that's why it's called Hellfest”.
At the exact moment their show ends, they leave, alternating between the main stages, i Pennywisewhile at the same time the Valley plays Eyehategod and at Temple i Gehenna.
This is one of those moments when you want to double yourself.
THE Pennywise they leave no room for half measures: circle pit and theirs “wall of life” (that's what they call him), until the moment when the guitarist, Fletcher Dragge, tired of the heat, he has water shot at him while still wearing his guitar. RIP guitar, what a show.
THE Three Days Grace they unleash the crowd from the first three songs, their best known, with an extremely involved audience. Halfway through the show the band stops to thank fans for their support and tell a bit of their story to the newcomers: a more intimate moment amidst so much energy.
After a short break it's the turn of the Architects: despite the heat, everyone is on stage waiting for them and, as soon as they start, the first huge circle pits typical of their style start. The crowd is electric, and Sam Carter it really gets everyone involved, making the entire audience jump in unison. The crowd surfers become a constant throughout the set and seem to never end.
Then the The Hiveswho leave a QR code on the screens that takes you back to their site, with a small gift for fans. They are simply crazy: the audience involvement reaches the highest peak of the evening and the singer Almqvist leatherlaunches himself into the crowd to organize a real relay from the center of the lawn to the stage.
The first headliners of the evening arrive: i Bad Omenswho perform everything in an epic and masterful way, with those fantastic alternations between clean and growl that only Noah Sebastian can give us.
The evening, and with it the festival, ends with The Offspring, Mayhem And Down simultaneously on different stages. We take a tour of all three, but we focus longer on Mayhem.
The festival is full to the last available meter and the general mood is one of happiness, even if the harsh note of nostalgia is starting to make itself felt.
To close everything, a special announcement, unfortunately no fireworks this year, impossible to achieve the heat wave that has reached peaks of 40°, but the news that arrives is even hotter than any fire: for the 2027 edition Hellfest will have 10 stages and over 300 bands.
Thus ends, with our eyes and hearts already focused on next year, an edition that provided continuous emotions from the first to the last minute.
