The writer is known for his ability to transform lettering into dynamic and mutant organisms: a continuous evolution of the typical forms of style wars, which develops into visionary animations capable of building and deconstructing narrative universes around his iconic armed letters.
The song anticipates“NILNY (Naples is like New York)”the new recording project of DJ Gruff outgoing Friday 18 September. The idea for the album was born from the meeting between DJ Gruff And RayZa in New York in 2019, years of uninterrupted exchanges between the two artists that led to the creation of the project, a true tribute to Hip Hop culture. “NILNY” brings together some of the best exponents of the New York and Neapolitan schools, of yesterday and today, in an authentic celebration of the genre.

DJ GRUFF
Sandro Orrù, aka DJ Gruff (8 January 1968), is one of the pioneers of Italian Old School Hip Hop. Known for originality in reinterpretation of scratch and rap techniquesDJ Gruff expresses himself in Hip Hop culture as a turntablist, DJ, beatmaker, rapper and producer. His career began in 1982.
Over the years he has been part of various historical formations: The Place to Be (with Next One, Carrie D, Igor, Nando-Boogie and Mr Hyde), Casino Royale (Alioscia Bisceglia, Giuliano Palma, Michele Pauli, Ferdinando Masi), Radical Stuff (DJ Skizo, Soul Boy, Sean, Top Cat and Kaos One), Island Posse All Stars, Mixed Blood and Alien Army.
His debut album, “La Rapadopa” (1993), is a cult album that inaugurates the Golden Age of Italian rap, which reaches its peak the following year with Sangue Misto (DJ Gruff, Neffa and Deda) and the publication of the album “SxM”, universally recognized as a milestone of national Hip Hop. With a vast and constantly evolving production, DJ Gruff continues to collaborate with musicians, MCs, breakers and writers from all over the world, keeping the essence of this culture alive.
