On January 22, Coldplay will release a film on YouTube designed as a visual complement to the songs on the album Moon Music. It's called A Film for the Future and is anticipated by a colorful trailer that you can see below.
The film was made by assembling the work of 150 visual artists from 45 different countries around the world who were asked to create works inspired by short audio passages of Moon Music that were provided to them. The film will also be in a special 360° format in equipped theaters in London, Manchester and Seoul.
«We thank the extraordinary artists who lent their genius to the film. They have created something very beautiful and we are extremely proud of it,” Coldplay said in a statement. The executive producer is Ben Mor, the director who previously directed the video for Hymn for the Weekend of the group with Beyoncé and who describes the film as a kaleidoscopic patchwork and a multimedia fresco.
A part of A Film for the Future was anticipated last summer by the lyric video of Feelslikeimfallinginlove. In the artwork of Everyday Life of 2019 as well as an advertising billboard with the writing Music of the Spheres (the title of the 2021 album), there was a car whose license plate was FFTF2024acronym stood for “Film for the Future”.
