THE Cigarettes After Sex share the new single Twizzler. Available now via Partisan Records and premiering yesterday on KROQ, the track follows the 2025 release of “Anna Karenina,” a single that also received a physical 7” release earlier this year.
Twizzler represents the continuation of an exciting year for the band: just last month at Coachella 2026, Greg Gonzalez performed a previously unreleased song alongside Latin superstar Karol G to mark the release of their collaborative single Después de ti. Gonzalez spoke more about the collaboration in a recent Playboy feature.
Recently, Cigarettes After Sex entered the top 200 of the most listened to artists on Spotify, with almost 30 million monthly listeners on the platform. Their song “Apocalypse” became one of 200 songs in history to surpass 2 billion streams on Spotify. Also “Cry,” “Sunsetz” and “K.” they surpassed one billion streams on Spotify in the span of just five days. The band is now one of only 11 bands in history (along with groups like Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC and Queen) to have four or more songs with over a billion streams.
“Apocalypse” is taken from Cigarettes After Sex's 2017 self-titled debut album, which sold over 2 million copies and was certified platinum in the US, gold in the UK and double platinum in France and Poland. The album is currently the 128th most streamed album ever on Spotify. The band's 2019 album, “Cry,” is certified gold in the US, France and Poland. Overall, the band has sold 3.2 million records in the US with three studio albums.
Cigarettes After Sex sold over 750,000 tickets worldwide during the “X's” tour, including sold out concerts at Madison Square Garden, The O2 Arena, the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and arenas across Asia.
Cigarettes After Sex consists of Greg Gonzalez (guitar and vocals), Jacob Tomsky (drums) and Randall Miller (bass).
