The Pretenders' lead singer Chrissie Hynde posted a letter on her social media accounts blasting people who use their cellphones at concerts. “It's like a weird compulsion that people can't control,” she writes. “It reminds me of monkeys wanking in full view of the people standing around their enclosure … and frankly, in that case, people deserved to be wanked at because monkeys should not be in an enclosure in the first place … However, an artist on a stage?” In the letter, she recounts having dinner with Emmylou Harris before seeing her perform at the Royal Albert Hall in…

A running theory: The youth yearn for breakbeats. The frenetic electronics of Nineties dance music have rumbled beneath the surface of indie rock and pop for some time now. The current wave of new acts — think Fcukers, Underscores, and of course, PinkPantheress — wields the sound with an uncanny magnetism, as if communicating from a post-digital future. Ear, the London and New York-based duo of Jonah Paz and Yaelle Avtan, who met while students at Bard, have become the type of buzzing indie band you used to hear about in the mid-2000s, fitting as the renaissance of aughts-era sounds…

According to available information, the concert will start at 8.30 pm at the Dall'Ara stadium (via Andrea Costa 174). As for the setlistthe live show on May 30th in Berlin offers a plausible reference for the structure of the show, between consolidated classics and…
John Summit has spoken about the mixed response to him headlining Lollapalooza 2026, saying that he has seen a lot of people online asking “who the fuck” he is. The Illinois DJ and record producer is set to headline this year’s edition of the Chicago festival alongside Lorde, Charli XCX, The Smashing Pumpkins, Olivia Dean, Jennie, Tate McRae and The xx. He is a huge name in the dance world, having kicked off his career in 2017 and dropped the hit house single ‘Deep End’ in 2020. His debut album ‘Comfort In Chaos’ arrived in July 2024, and he followed…
Back in the Nineties, people tended to class the Scottish electronic production duo Boards of Canada alongside their weirdo peers on Warp Records. At the time, few would have dared to dub them “trip-hop,” and maybe they shouldn't have. But BoC's lazy breakbeats, pitch-bent synthesizers and samples, and woozy air did and does point straight in that direction. Even now, though, that phrase might strike the ear as too time-bound — too Nineties, especially for a duo whose best work has proven veritably timeless. But look around: Like skyrocketing gas prices and threats of nuclear war, trip-hop is back, bigly.…
Ned Brower of The Pitt is out with his latest single Filmmaker and screenwriter Leigh Whannell is used to telling horror stories: about creatures undulating through the Further in the Insidious series, and the mad machinations of serial killer Jigsaw in Saws. In Bloodwerk's new video for “The Other Side,” though, he tackles a new kind of terror: the service industry. “I wanted to make something cinematic and story-driven, like a little, short film,” Whannell tells Rolling Stone. “It's about how hard it can be to live in a city when the arts are thriving but you're sitting on the…
Just two years have passed since the publication of the excellent “Theories Of Emptiness”, but something has changed, following the separation with guitarist Henrik Danhage,… Daniel D`Amico for SANREMO.FM
The country star poked fun at the technical difficulties that caused him to bust out his best angry Billy Joel impression at a recent show in Denver Morgan Wallen assured fans his piano was still in working order, poking fun at himself after he pushed over his upright during a performance in Denver. In a short clip shared on social media, Wallen filmed himself walking up to a keyboard and telling the camera, “Hey, I just want you guys to know that, right now, this piano is working.” Then, after taking a step away, he turned back and quipped, “That’s…
