Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter has spoken out against using AI in songwriting, describing it as “a way to bypass the creative process”. The electronic music icon shared his stance during an interview with Chanel’s president of arts, culture and heritage, Yana Peel. After decades of dressing as a robot for Daft Punk, Bangalter was asked whether he would ever consider using AI technology to help write his own material – to which he quickly shot the idea down, saying that it erases the creative process entirely. “AI really focuses right now on the results,” he shared. “It’s all about the…

Like “Rubberz,” the “Rack City” rapper’s latest album, the ’80s-indebted $tarface, has faced multiple accusations of being at least partially made with artificial intelligence. Not only does Tyga admit the accusations are true, but he is using the current go-to explanation (excuse?) favored by other generative AI-friendly artists: Adapt or die.“I’ve never spoken on this with anybody because I always felt like it’s similar to a magician explaining how he does his tricks,” he told…

Just a couple of years ago, any sort of reconciliation between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham felt like an absolute impossibility. They briefly interacted at a memorial event for Christine McVie in January 2023, but otherwise had no communication since Buckingham was removed from Fleetwood Mac in 2018, sparking a legally battle that was eventually settled out of court. “The only time I’ve spoken to Lindsey was [at McVie’s memorial], for about three minutes,” Nicks told Rolling Stone in 2024. “I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could. You could not say that I did not give him…
