Last week saw the release of YHWH Nailgun’s 11-minute 4AD debut, Magazine, which they premiered during an 11-minute set at this year’s C2C Festival NYC. Now the New York band have announced a North American tour set for the fall. They’ll receive support from Seattle darkwave musician Nuda across the Northeast and Midwest, @ on the West Coast, and Keiyaa down south. Morgan Garrett will also join YHWH Nailgun for the final gig, a hometown concert at Brooklyn’s Warsaw. Will all the shows be 11 minutes? Who can say. Kelela has released another song off her upcoming album New Avatar. Called “Outta Time,” it features guitar and vocals from A.K. Paul, brother and frequent collaborator of the enigmatic musician Jai Paul. In the track’s accompanying video, Kelela and Paul sing to each other in a studio, confronting the end of a strained relationship as night falls. The Flaming Lips have been forced to cancel a show after they shared news that frontman Wayne Coyne had been hospitalised with pneumonia. The band were due to play in Vienna last night (June 15) as part of their ongoing European tour, but were forced to cancel when Coyne became ill. Sharing a new post on Instagram, the band wrote: “We are truly sorry, Vienna, but our show tonight at Gasometer is cancelled. “Wayne has pneumonia and has been ordered to bed rest. Chris Brown was seated at the defense table in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday, poised to testify at his dog mauling trial, when the judge declared a mistrial due to juror misconduct. “Unfortunately, one of the jurors has violated my admonitions against searching the internet for information, and not only that, but he also shared it, and as a consequence, I have to declare a mistrial,” Judge Huey P. My Bloody Valentine‘s Kevin Shields reunited with Primal Scream this week, joining them on stage in Ireland. Shields was a semi-permanent member of the Scottish indie rock band between 1998 and 2006 – helping shift them towards a heavier electronic-industrial sound on albums including 2000’s ‘XTRMNTR’ and 2002’s ‘Evil Heat’ (2002).
