“I've spent the last seven years rebuilding my life and I want to enjoy it. I'm going to miss you all so much.” Adele announced, barely holding back tears, that she will be taking a break from concert activity. She did so during the last concert of her residency in Monaco, which ended yesterday. Before that, a final series of concerts awaits her in Las Vegas.
In July she explained that she had no intention of working on new music, now she has explained that she will not be seen on stage for a while after the ten American dates scheduled for the weekends of October 25th to November 23rd.
“I'm not comfortable on stage, and I know that, but I'm really fucking good. And I've really enjoyed performing for almost three years, which is the longest I've ever done and probably the longest I'll ever do.”
And again: after Las Vegas “I won't see you for an incredibly long time. I will keep you in my heart throughout the break and think back to these concerts and all the ones I've done in the last three years. It's been wonderful, I just need to rest.”
In Munich, Adele played ten shows in an 80,000-seat arena (we wrote about it here). “People came in good and bad weather, in a fucking monsoon, in thunder, in lightning.” These were her first concerts in continental Europe since 2016, when she also performed in Italy for two dates at the Verona Arena.
