NEW MUSIC FRIDAY: NEW SINGLES REPORT CARD for December 13th
Let's start with the songs RECOMMENDED BY ALL MUSIC ITALIAor rather the songs that deserve a listen in our opinion.
Francesca Michielin – Christmas Party
A timbre as bright and sparkling as the lights that envelop us while listening to this Christmas gem. It's as amazing as the voice of the Michielin adapts perfectly to the English language, so much so that in this capacity a little Mariah Carey It almost seems preferable. Yet another proof of talent for an always impeccable voice.
Sparkling
TFR – Clean Air
The beat and synths of this song are its strong point, evoking atmospheres that reminded me of the mood of the film's soundtrack Triangle of Sadness. A musical masterpiece that perfectly evokes the tensions of the film, and which I find, in some way, here too.
The piece, apparently light, has a noir aftertaste and a silently dark soul, which emerges as you listen to it. The dialogue between the two voices is good and manages to blend together in a constructive and interesting way.
Cryptic
Fellow – Loving each other in the meantime
A love that surpasses time and a bond beyond all dimensions evoke the image of a “reblooming rose”, symbol of an eternal and indestructible feeling. Synth and piano intertwine to bring out the right colors, perfectly enriching the arrangement of this piece. The interpretation and the voice of Fellow they complete a song that turns out to be a journey through trees, hands that meet, steps and time that passes.
Compelling
The André – Omelette
The André he manages to hypnotize once again with this song, perfect to be listened to in loop, letting yourself be enveloped by his unique and inimitable voice. His ability to paint images with extraordinary creativity transforms every listen into an experience to be enjoyed with your eyes closed.
From the beginning, we immerse ourselves in the flow of the day that flows through the eyes of the singer-songwriter, until we reach the moment in which the dream and the night take over, transporting us to another dimension.
A whirlwind of words explodes like a waterfall at a precise moment in the song, and when this part repeats, there is a sense of nostalgia for its intensity.
Dreamlike
Federico Baroni – I would like
With the expression “the PAM envelopes”, won me over. It's extraordinary how such a simple image can capture the listener, triggering unexpected emotions. That sentence immediately took me back to a moment in my life, to a person with whom, in an equally simple way, I was shopping right there. It was instant: an emotion that triggered a memory.
This is the magic of music and lyrics, even when they are essential, but capable of touching the right strings of memory. The beat and voice are perfectly synchronized, creating a sound loop that captures from the first listen, making it immediate and effective.

THE FAILURES OF THE WEEK
Margin – The leaves
I understand the stylistic intent and direction the project wants to take, but I have to disagree. The text is too simple, with extremely closed rhymes that repeat metrically, without offering breathing space or variety to the listener.
I'm sorry to reject an emerging artist, because it's always more difficult than doing so with a big name, but I hope that this criticism can be constructive. The singer's voice is well supported and has obvious potential, but using it in such a lackluster piece ends up limiting it, without giving it the chance to shine or really explode.
Closed
Albe – Finally
There is no denying the brilliance and poetry of a phrase like “I will talk about you with the sailors”, but unfortunately adding the sound of the sea and the sound of seagulls is not enough to make the song special. The singer's voice appears too explanatory and, alas, excessively linear compared to the arrangement.
In the chorus, in particular, it seems to transform into a sort of sing-song, lacking the emotional depth and intensity that one would expect.
Elementary
Let's move on to…
GOLDEN SONG
Nico Arezzo – Eugenio also cries
Crying is a luxury, a privilege reserved for man as the only living being capable of emotional outlet. But the protagonist of this story? And Eugene? Nico Arezzo he tells us this intriguing perspective in his new song.
The piece fits perfectly in the wake of the Italian indie-pop sound, recalling the narrative style of Giovanni Truppiof which Nico he seems to be a valid disciple. The song is a real “journey”, in which musical growth is perceived in a tangible way. It develops dynamically, with a harmonious construction that becomes more and more interesting and engaging as it progresses.
The guitar emerges as a supporting instrument, not limiting itself to acting as a sound basis, but taking on a narrative role within the song. Each note seems to follow a well-defined path, intertwining with the emotional tension of the text and with the sonic evolution of the song.
In summary, Also Eugenio cries it is a perfect fusion of words, melodies and instruments, a work capable of exciting and leaving a lasting mark on the listener. A piece that deserves attention and that confirms the talent of Nico Arezzo.
Empathetic
Mina – True love
An expanse of violins and delicate wind instruments welcomes the enveloping and poignant voice of Minaa true sonic red carpet that guides the listener into a unique emotional experience. Minalike few other artists, knows how to make a text vibrate to the point of making it enter the skin of the listener, giving an interpretative intensity that is his trademark.
“True love never ends,” he sings Minawith an interpretative force that seems unstoppable, just like his voice. The song, yet another collaboration with Ferzan Ozpetekpromises to be a soundtrack capable of illuminating the upcoming film, enriching it with the depth and elegance of its music.0
Passionate
Niveo – Locked
“Between the necklace and the heart” describes an emotion that tightens and spreads from the mouth to the throat, until it reaches the ribs that hide the heart. “Every song I wrote just to make me love you” contains a profound truth: sometimes we write as if it were a need to bring out what we would like to say to someone, directly, while we compose. Other times, the songs almost become emotional compensation. And then, “I'll lock you inside a song” becomes a way to protect those we love or a feeling, keeping it safe, sheltered from everything that could ruin it.
Niveo he has a sweet voice, suspended between the boy and the child, almost a “Little Prince” of music but with the awareness of someone who has already experienced profound emotions. His voice maturely conveys what life has taught him, demonstrating how a timbre can tell so much.
The rhythm is fundamental, supporting the crescendo of the song and leaving space for the guitars, which mix perfectly with the synths, making the piece lively and enveloping. Locked it's bright pop, capable of exciting and engaging.
