MARCO MENGONI, “THROW EVERYTHING”: MEANING OF THE SONG
Throw it all away it is the possibility of ruining plans and changing direction, but also the desire to reset everything and redesign one's path, ready to start again with a different perspective.
Melancholy and new horizons merge and the opportunity to change things is always one step away from us, the only ones truly capable of rewriting our history.
MARCO MENGONI, “MARE EVERYTHING”: TEXT OF THE SONG
The full text of Throw it all away will be available from Friday 29 November.
This weather doesn't surprise me
Stuck among the people who never regret it
I should take space
Getting lost in travels
Better to stay silent and pretend nothing happened
Alone like olives in a martini
I speak a language you didn't understand
I dress in white
I'll be a little tired when I get back
Because I feel like going out this morning
And then I never go out
If I could go back to where I was before
Maybe I would never go back
I kept this melancholy for us
Throw it all away
And maybe change direction for once
I came back with a broken face
Under your house
I'm another guy who told you bullshit
But he doesn't want to
Throw it all away
