According to reports The Morningthe complications that arose after a heart transplant were fatal. Heart problems led to the death of Pino and another brother, Salvatore, who passed away in 2021.
Carmine Daniele was the Giò mentioned by Pino in I Got the Blues: “O God, whatever you want, you'll see, I really miss company, now I'm not good enough to talk and I can't conclude but I got the blues, I got the blues on me”. In 2015, during a visit by Matteo Salvini, Carmine had displayed a poster with the writing “This League is a shame, even my brother Pino said so”. The following year he argued over the naming of an alley after Pino Daniele, near Santa Maria la Nova. «My brother brought Neapolitan culture to the world, he deserved a square, not an alleyway».
Pino Daniele had five brothers and sisters: in addition to the aforementioned Carmine and Salvatore, there are Nello, Patrizia and Rosaria. Salvatore opens on the album cover My land.
