For the first time in the history of the WNBA Finals, there will be a Game 7. The Atlanta Dream decisively beat the Golden State Valkyries during a midday game at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, taking the lead within the first minute and holding onto it until the final whistle to force a seven-game series.
At a Glance: Where to Buy Tickets to Valkyries vs. Dream
The final will take place at San Francisco’s Chase Center, and the Valkyries will now hope that the energy of Ballhalla can carry them to their first title — which would be a remarkable run for a team that’s only in its second season. The game is set for 5:00 p.m. PT (8:00 p.m. ET) and airs on USA and streams on Peacock.
The Dream’s Game 6 performance was powered in part by Angel Reese, who notched a double-double and set a new record for most rebounds in a WNBA finals series. But teamwork made the Dream work; four of Atlanta’s players scored in the double digits, compared to just two for the Valkyries.
Game 6 was mired by scheduling conflicts, which meant tip-off was 12:30 p.m. ET on a weekday due to the Hawks-Cavaliers game taking place the same day. Still, the game took place in front of a packed arena.
