Singer-songwriter's third album Lost Weekend arrives next month
Exactly one month before Phoebe Bridgers releases her new album Lost Weekendthe singer-songwriter stopped byThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a surprise performance of “Lost Boys.”
Bridgers appeared on stage alongside a band of young musicians “On a motorbike, doing 90 in a 55,” she sings. “To another life/Where they make you cut your hair.”
“Lost Boys” released late last month and was produced by Bridgers, Jack Antonoff, and Bridgers' longtime collaborators Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska, with additional production by Alex G; her boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker provided backing vocals. The song's video, featuring Bridgers at a Renaissance faire, also starred actor Skyler Gisondo as a gas station cashier.
Lost WeekendBridgers' third solo album, arrives Aug. 14 via Dead Oceans. It follows her magnificent breakout album Punisherreleased in 2020. Bridgers will tour in support of the new album, kicking off on Sept. 15 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Just like her recent surprise acoustic shows — and sold-out evening at New York's Madison Square Garden in June — the Lost Tour will be completely phoneless.
The tour flyer was shot by fine-art photographer Gregory Crewdson, who gave an exclusive interview to Rolling Stone about collaborating with Bridgers. “There was an alliance there, with a sense of mystery and loneliness, and wanting to make connections about landscape and all that,” he said. “It's a coming together between Phoebe's world and my world.”
While we wait for Lost Weekendhere's everything we know about the album.
