This year's soccer World Cup, which is being played in Mexico, Canada and the United States, will likely be remembered as the most musical ever. First of all, the tournament was inaugurated with a triple opening concert in the three host countries, with guests such as Shakira, Katy Perry, Lisa from Blackpink, Alanis Morissette, Future, Tyla, Andrea Bocelli, giving space to the various official songs of the competition. Wonderwall became the soundtrack to the English advance, thrilling Liam Gallagher. And now another prominent name is added to the line up of the halftime show conceived and organized by Chris Martin of Coldplay.
In exactly ten days, at the New York New Jersey Stadium, in addition to the already announced Madonna, BTS and Shakira, Justin Bieber will perform. In addition to them also Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudame and Coldplay themselves accompanied by a choir of elementary school children. The show should last, in total, 11 minutes.
«The World Cup unites the world like nothing else can. I'm grateful to be able to participate in this show, and I'm even more grateful knowing that it is already helping to expand access to education for children around the world,” Bieber said after the announcement of his performance.
The last sentence pronounced by the musician refers to the fact that FIFA has chosen to donate, for every ticket sold, one dollar to help access education for less fortunate children. The goal is to reach 100 million dollars.
“When it comes to what the world needs, there is nothing more important than education. We are proud that Justin Bieber is joining Madonna, Shakira and BTS as a co-star at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final halftime show, in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund and our mission to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children around the world.”
The final will be held on Sunday 19 July at 9pm Italian time.
