The song marks the beginning of GIANNAGOLD – The 50 Years Album Celebrationthe project with which the rocker celebrates half a century of recording career. For the occasion, Americaone of the symbolic songs of Gianna Nannini's repertoire, returns in a completely renewed guise thanks to the production shared with Dardust and the participation of Marracash.
This new version does not simply re-propose a classic, but updates its meaning in light of the present. The title itself, America inc.suggests a rereading of the American myth through a more disillusioned gaze, also accompanied by a new cover that reinterprets the historic one published in 1979.
Gianna Nannini – America inc.: the meaning of the song
With America inc., Gianna Nannini takes one of his best-known songs and transports it into the present. If the original version photographed a provocative and symbolic America, this new interpretation focuses on a dream that, according to the artist, has gradually dissolved.
The choice to involve Marracash strengthens the dialogue between two generations and two different musical languages, united by a direct approach to writing. The Milanese artist's rap thus fits into a song that maintains its rock identity but broadens the point of view on the topic addressed.

As Gianna Nannini describes the birth of the project, explaining how the famous symbol of the original cover is replaced by the image of a Statue of Liberty that seems to melt, a metaphor for an imaginary that has profoundly changed compared to the end of the Seventies.
Also Marracash explained the meaning of the collaboration:
“America is an iconic piece and in this refreshed version it is updated, representing a dream that melted before our eyes. Gianna is the icon of rock, of feminism, and what really unites us is authenticity.”
The release of the single also anticipates the new reissue of Californiahistoric album from 1979 which will be re-released on July 10th in a special limited edition.
