“They tried to stop us by labeling us 'terrorists', canceling concerts and with speeches from the Prime Minister himself. But we're still here. Fenian is our answer: darker, more challenging, more triumphant. An album for those who speak truth to power.” declare the members of the trio, Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí.
Fenianproduced by Dan Carey (Fontaines DC, Kae Tempest, Wet Leg), marks a new chapter in the band's trajectory and is their third studio album, following Fine Art (2024), a work that has broadened the international resonance of Kneecap. A direct and radical album, which blends hip-hop, electronics and punk attitude, alternating provocation and lucidity. The lyrics are rooted in Irish cultural identity and address social and political issues without filters, confirming the trio as one of the most uncomfortable and relevant voices of their generation.
The first single from the album, “Liars Tale”, is an incendiary punk-rave track that exposes attempts at censorship and political repression, driven by 80s rock riffs and chaotic rave-punk beats.
The album also features collaborations from Radie Peat, Kae Tempest and Fawzi, with tracks such as Éire go Deo, Palestine (ft. Fawzi) and the title track Feniantrue live-show anthems that combine political messages, satire and pure entertainment.
In recent years the group has also attracted international attention for its political positioning, openly speaking out on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and supporting the Palestinian cause through public declarations, symbols and positions that have sparked debate far beyond the musical sphere. To further strengthen the cultural impact of the project, the BAFTA and Sundance-winning biopic of the same namewelcomed with enthusiasm by audiences and critics, which helped transform Kneecap from an underground cult to an international sensation.
The Fenian Tour accompanies the release of the new album and marks the first opportunity for the Italian public to attend a Kneecap live performance, with a repertoire that spans the band's entire career, from its beginnings to its latest recording chapter.
