Angelina Mango is the host of the new episode of Supernovathe podcast of Alessandro Cattelanonline starting today. At Cattelan's desk the singer-songwriter, winner of the Sanremo Festival 2024 and representative of Italy atEurovision Song Contest of the same year, talks about the growth path after a period of pause and the upcoming projects.
A return that the artist herself describes as the resumption of a dialogue with herself, after a year and a half away from the scene.
“The person I have become after a year and a half has more things to say, things he has learned. I took my time and now I feel very different, perhaps for the better. I am a little calmer. For me the priority is always to stay centered with yourself.
For a moment I was afraid that everyone would forget about me, but this fear passed immediately. Even if they forgot, I like to come back with this record and with the person I am now.”

The return comes through music. After the surprise release last October of the second album caramel and a spring theater tour with twelve sold-out dates on June 12 Angelina Mango released the new single with Marco Mengoni, Song of lovea choral piece with a Mediterranean soul accompanied by the official video clip.
In the podcast the singer-songwriter explains why, for her, sincerity remains the starting point of everything, even at the cost of exposing herself.
“It wouldn't have made sense for me to make music without saying real things, and talking about how crazy everything was, when it wasn't for me. And this is dear. I think it always pays off when there is something true, even painful, but true. What I want is to make music.
On the March tour, for example, I completely excluded everything related to clothes, fittings, makeup and hair. I wanted to take all that part away, go there and make music, but not because everything else is wrong. Now I'm slowly trying to recover and resume that part too.”
Summer will bring her back live with Nina sings in theaters in the summernine dates in July in Italian open-air theaters and amphitheatres.

Alongside the story about music and growth, in the podcast there is also space for the more ironic and creative side of the artist, who confides one of his new theories to Cattelan. Fruit, he explains, is his way of reading reality.
“In my opinion, everything can be explained by fruit. If you look at the inside of a banana it's a smiling, sad or angry face, it has an expression. There was a banana that the other day looked just like my dog. Even citrus fruits, for example, are very similar to eyes, to the iris. When I see these similarities I go crazy.”
