Nick Valensi has taken a “temporary break” from the Strokes. The band announced it in their Instagram stories. He will not be with the band for the tour. Will he be back in time for the concert on October 17th at the Unipol Arena in Bologna?
“Hey, Nick will be taking a temporary break from touring, but we can't wait for him to come back,” the Stokes wrote. In his place on guitar will be «our old friend Steve Schiltz, who many will remember from his first days in New York. We are lucky to have him.”
Schiltz is the guitarist of Longwave, he has been close to the band since the first years of activity and played with the group at the beginning of the year, when Valensi took another break from the Strokes and then returned to perform with them in April for Coachella.
The new album Reality Awaits will be released on June 26th. The two highly critical singles have been extracted so far Going Shopping And Falling Out of Lovewhich the Strokes played last night with Schiltz at Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
