THE Rolling Stones they have now published the official video clip of the new single “In The Stars“, a cheerful and engaging song taken from their new studio album “Foreign Tongues” coming July 10. Directed by Francois Rousseletwho worked with Nike, Diesel, Pharrell Williams and edited the Stones' videos “Angry” from the album “Hackney Diamonds” and “Ride 'Em On Down” from “Blue & Lonesome”, the new video features the acclaimed actress Odessa A'zion (Marty Supreme, I Love LA).
The video, created by Deep Voodoo using cutting-edge deepfake technology, shows the 1970s Stones performing “In The Stars” alongside musicians, singers and dancers from different eras, cultures and subcultures.
Regarding the collaboration with the Rolling Stones, Odessa A'zion said: “Are you kidding me? It's my dream. The first record I bought and listened to from start to finish was 'Tattoo You'. I'm obsessed with the Rolling Stones. It's definitely on my bucket list (to work with them).”
“Foreign Tongues,” out July 10 via Polydor Records, is an incredibly vivid 14-track collection that arrives less than three years after “Hackney Diamonds,” a globally acclaimed, 1-time Grammy Award-winning album that topped charts around the world and achieved resounding success.
The track “In The Stars” was released last week to coincide with the album announcement and is available digitally alongside the album’s opening track “Rough and Twisted”. “In The Stars” will be released in physical format on May 15th.
In view of the announcement of “Foreign Tongues“, the band has been able to discreetly fuel the anticipation for the new project, also through the limited edition release of the song “Rough and Twisted” on white label vinyl, under a pseudonym The Cockroaches. After circulating among fans and collectors, this release immediately sparked excitement and speculation about the sound and direction of “Foreign Tongues,” offering a first taste of the album's raw, exploratory energy.
Recorded during a period of exceptional creativity, “Foreign Tongues” came to life in less than a month at Metropolis Studios in West London, with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood reuniting with the Grammy-winning producer Andrew Wattsformerly at the helm of “Hackney Diamonds”. The result is a dynamic, forward-thinking record that captures the band's signature sound while pushing them into new sonic and textual territory, further cementing their unparalleled legacy.
The album features exceptional performances from Jagger, Richards and Wood, joined by their regular collaborators, including Darryl Jones, Matt Clifford and Steve Jordan. It also includes a special guest appearance from Charlie Watts, recorded during one of his last studio sessions before his passing in 2021. To top it all off, an impressive lineup of guest artists, including Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith of The Cure And Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
