The 2026 Winter Olympics are here, with plenty of early action courtesy of curling. The event kicked off on Feb. 4, ahead of Friday's Opening Ceremony. Mixed doubles was the first event, returning for the third Olympics following its introduction in 2018. Team USA's mixed doubles pair, Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin, earned early wins against Norway and Switzerland during the round-robin phase.
At a Glance: How to Watch Curling at the Olympics
The sport may be less dangerous than other winter sports like skeleton and ski jumping, but it has become a fan favorite at the games thanks to its emphasis on strategy and teamwork. The competition is broken into men's, women's, and mixed doubles. Curling consists of four players per team, while mixed doubles consists of a mixed-gender two-person team. Teams take turns sliding a stone toward a circular target, while sweepers use specialized brooms on the ice to affect the stone's trajectory.
Olympic curling has long been dominated by Canada — the Great White North has 12 medals all-time, including six gold medals. Sweden and Great Britain round out the top three, while the United States has medaled twice, including gold in men's curling in 2018.
The schedule for curling consists of mixed doubles events from Feb. 4 – Feb. 10, followed by men's and women's events from Feb. 11 – Feb. 22.
If you're looking to stream curling, every event will be available on Peacock, with select events and replays airing on USA and CNBC. NBC networks have long been the home of the Winter and Summer Olympics, and will continue to hold the rights in the US until at least 2036.
NBC, USA, and CNBC are also available with a live TV streaming service like DirecTV or Hulu + Live TV.
