The Muses postponed their concert to Istanbul scheduled for 11 June. The announcement of the show, released at the beginning of the week, immediately triggered reactions between fans and local artists who asked the band to cancel the event due to disputes related to the organizing company.
The controversy is part of the delicate Turkish political climate destabilized by the arrest of the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoğlu. The boycott of the DBL Entertainment, a company responsible for the event, arose from some declarations of its president, Abdulkadir Ozkan, who had defined as “traitors” those who are boycott the chain of Espressolab coffee shops, connected to him. His words triggered hard critical and an appeal to the world of music to avoid collaborations with the companies in which Ozkan is involved.
The Muses soon reacted to the pressure of the fans thus taking the decision to postpone the concert to 2026. In an official press release, the band said: “After careful considerations and listening to the feedback of our fans, of which we respect the concerns, we decided to move the Istanbul concert to 2026, so that we can organize it without the involvement of the DBL Entertainment”. The band then thanked the public for the support: «It means everything for us. See you in 2026 ».
After Careful Careful Consideration and Hearing the Feedback from Our Fans Whilst Fully Respecting Their Concens, Our Show in Istanbul Will Be Now Postponed Until 2026 So We Can Ensure DBL Entertainment Will Not Be Involved.
Thank you for your ongoing support, it means everyth to …
