K-pop girl group NMIXX have performed a cover of f(x)’s 2012 hit single ‘Electric Shock’.
Yesterday (December 19), KBS music programme Music Bank held its ‘2024 Global Festival’ concert in Japan, where several K-pop artists showcased their latest hits and special performances. During the concert, girl group NMIXX surprised fans with a performance of f(x)’s ‘Electric Shock’.
Their rendition of the 2012 hit remains true to the original, with laser beams and stage fireworks flashing around them as they perform the energetic electro house track. “The beat is getting faster / It’s beating louder, more and more / I’ve already gone past the limit / I’m in shock, e-electric shock,” they sing.
NMIXX also performed a special remix of their latest single ‘See That?’ along with their B-side ‘Beat Beat’ from their August mini-album ‘Fe3O4: Stick Out’, along with their January tracks ‘Soñar (Breaker)’ and ‘Run for Roses’.
Earlier this week, NMIXX’s leader Haewon released a cover of Sabrina Carpenter’s hit June single ‘Please Please Please’ as part of the group’s Re-MIXX series on YouTube, where they perform song covers. She is the sixth and final member to release a cover clip.
Back in January, the girl group also unveiled their second mini-album ‘Fe3O4: Break’, which included the singles ‘Soñar (Breaker)’ and ‘DASH’. The latter was recently named one of NME’s Top 25 K-pop songs of 2024.
In other K-pop news, former JYP Entertainment boyband GOT7 have announced their upcoming return with their special 11th anniversary mini-album ‘Winter Heptagon’. The highly anticipated project is due out in January 2025, and will mark their first group release in nearly three years.
