The unexpected set took place on Friday (July 26), with Beck enlisting a full band to deliver a short set of covers and originals. In a homage to the festival’s origins as a celebration of folk, Beck performed versions of some of the genre’s most iconic songs, such as Fred Neil’s ‘The Other Side of This Life’, Jimmy Rodgers’ ‘Waiting for a Train’ and ‘God Moves on the Water’ by Blind Willie Johnson cover.
He also played a handful of his own tracks, including ‘John Hardy’, ‘Stagger Lee’, and ‘Loser’.

He hasn’t released an album since 2019’s ‘Hyperspace‘, which was a collaborative project with Pharrell. NME gave the record a four-star review and declared it a “daring new era” for the artist, with Elizabeth Audrey writing: “After a career spanning 30 years, Beck is still shape-shifting and proves, once again, that no genre isn’t malleable for him.”
Meanwhile, the first trailer for A Complete Unknown – a biopic about Dylan starring Timothée Chalamet – was shared this week. The new film, which will arrive in cinemas in January 2025, will see Chalamet take on the role of the iconic musician during his rise to fame.
