In the chat with the journalist Grazia Sambruna, Valerio Scanu first of all he wanted to dot the i's: contrary to what many have posted online, he did not feel called into question by the speech of Maria De Filippi. Far from it. By the way, the runner-up ad Friends 8 he clarified:
“I noticed this because I was tagged several times on X and Instagram. I tried to let it go, but at a certain point I told some more aggressive people to change dealers. Personally, I don't feel affected because I have always been grateful to the program.”
Valerio Scanu, however, doesn't just feel grateful to the program thanks to which his career began. The same applies to the presenter herself, with whom she had disagreements in the past (which later resulted in a defamation lawsuit by De Filippi, which was then dismissed). In this regard, the Sardinian artist added:
“It gave me the chance to emerge, to make myself known to the general public. Then at every concert and occasion I have never shied away from saying that I come from Amici. Every 5th of October (anniversary of entry into the Canale 5 television school, ed) I always remember, even publicly, where I come from.”

From that old social outburst against broadcasting and Maria De Filippi nine years have now passed, and today Scanu is aware that it was only a momentary moment of anger, also linked to his young age (he was only 25 years old). Valerio Scanu among other things, in the meantime he has tried to re-establish relations with her, especially when her husband Maurizio Costanzo is dead. The singer explained:
“When Maurizio Costanzo passed away, I wrote to you on an old email I had. I don't know if he ever got my message, though. The fact is that these things go beyond that for me, between me and Maria there was still a friendship and sincere affection. I was really sorry not to be able to be close to her in a painful moment like the one she was going through.”
So everything resolved? Let's say yes, in the sense that the old resentment on his part seems to have disappeared. And on the part of the presenter instead? We still don't have an answer from her, although Scanu – speaking of the old complaint – commented in an ironic tone: “from that moment on, I doubt that Maria has much sympathy for me”.
