Few discs, long silences, but an impeccable care and passion in reviving the glories of a certain type of Death Metal sound.
The unbirth process has always been this, and it is not surprising that the new “Asomatous Bersmitment” is placed in absolute continuity with this process of study and aging of the subject subject, presenting the Modenese group in an even more lucid, methodical and ruthless guise than that known thanks to the debut “Deracinated Celestial Oligarchy” (2013) and the subsequent “FlexforteD Columns of Deceit” (2018).
Published without particular trumpet rings from the American new Elite Standard, a label that over time has been able to fill the void left by the unique leader in the field of technical and brutal death metal, the album presents itself as an authentic riot of solutions attributable to the way of interpreting the genre in the early 2000s, when the label of the late Erik Lindmark, extracting from the undergrowth like Beheaded, Decrepit Birth or Spawn of possession, he knew how to bring the lesson of the previous decade to even greater frenzy and intensity levels.
In response to what is evidently an authentic expressive need on the part of ours, unrelated to market logic or by the desire to follow the trend of the moment, the collection therefore reconnects to that historical period with an impressive energy and meticulousness, dispensing both the usual structural complexity (and it could not be otherwise), and a writing with a more functional and slender cut compared to the past, whose nature ends up reminding the nature of the colleagues. Septycal Gorge on a work like “Scourge of the Formless Breed”.
Songs that transmit a constant sense of movement, as if they were placed on a tectonic plaque about to disintegrate themselves, but which despite the oppressive atmosphere and the amount of riffs and changes of time inside them still manage to play fluids and – to a certain extent – catchy, articulating feverish through a maze of solutions with a high socket coefficient, ingenuity and annihilation.
A wave of energy that propagates from the deep, and that comes to light reiterating how the unbirth, reached the finish line of the third full-length, now master the so-called 'brutal' vein with an authority higher than the average, in an incede that-net of general uniformity-merges surgical expertise, overflowing groove and visceral aggressiveness with results that know the truthful compositional domain.
Even the production, powerful, modern but far from presenting itself as aseptic, returns the image of a mature band and that does not intend to leave the surrender of one's efforts to chance, and whose talent, in 2025, is all enclosed in apocalyptic episodes such as “Unreesilient Consgeries of Affliction”, “Malignant Pregnancies” or “Solemn Amphibology”.
For lovers of the genre, one of the safe highlights of the year, obviously waiting for the return of the putridities.
