Tychopseudonym of Scott Hansen (San Francisco, 1977), is an American musician and composer. It is also known how ISO50 For his works of photography and graphics.
In 2004, Hansen released his first album, entitled “Sunrise Projector”, for Gammaphone Records. This album is then republished by Merck Records in 2006 with the title “Past is prologue”.
In 2011 he released the album “Dive”, which is welcomed positively by critics. The disc, the result of five years of recordings, also marks the beginning of the collaboration with the Ghostly International label. During the tour that follows this album Hansen begins for the first time to work with a real band.
In 2014 the fourth record project of Hansen was released, Awakewhich for the first time introduces the presence of a band in the studio and is characterized by a more mature writing. The disc, acclaimed by critics, is presented with a world tour.
In 2016 he released a new album, entitled “Epoch”, which resumes the previous “Awake” in terms of writing and sound. The disc is appointed to 2017 Grammy Awards for best album in the dance/electronic category. Acclaimed positively by critics, the disc comes out again for Ghostly International and definitively consecrates the Tycho project as one of the best in the electronic panorama and Chillout.
On May 14, 2019 he announces that the sixth album, Weatherwould have been published on July 12th. The album marks a turning point in Hansen's musical career: for the first time, in fact, his songs will be accompanied by a voice, that of the singer Hannah Cottrell, known as Saint Sinner. It is also his first album released by the record label Ninja Tune.
