Tropic closes the circle of his new album, Alone and desperate in the wonderful seawith a delicate and precious unreleased song: Almost Blue. Produced with Davide Simonettathe single is a unique ballad of its kind and represents a real turning point for the singer-songwriter, who with his birth name – Davide Petrella – he signed (as an author) many Italian hits of the last decade.
TROPICO PRESENTS THE NEW “ALMOST BLUE”
Embellished with one sophisticated writing, but with an immediate emotional impact, Almost Blue is the perfect love song for those who live by “Almost” and never manages to find a definitive happy ending in their relationships.
“Almost Blue it's a metaphor. Almost happy. Maybe this time it will be okay. You're almost there, you're about to fix everything, but then you ruin everything again and again. This song made me understand so many things about myself and my life, I will always be grateful to it“, explains Tropico.
Then he adds: “Being able to accept your limits, your weaknesses and fragilities is good: it is not possible to hide them forever”.
Written well before the publication of Alone and desperate in the wonderful sea, Almost Blue it remained locked in a drawer for a long time in the form of a demo:
“I felt it was one of the 'biggest' and 'widest' songs I'd ever done, but it wasn't the right time to put it out: it needed more time to work on than the others. I was the one who needed more time.”
Precisely for this reason the work on production was meticulous:
“To make this song more precious we tried to raise the bar in terms of sound, arrangements, recording of live instruments and mix. I felt that it would define a new quality standard for my work. We put a lot of heart into it, we hope we succeeded.”
