For one evening, no muggings, baby gangs, anti-crime raids in the Central Station: for one evening the controversial entrance square to our station was dressed up to host a nice (free) concert that celebrates the freedom to move.
The TrainlineFest, after the Spanish success of a few months ago, arrives in Milan with a lineup that winks at the tastes of the young people who populate the Milanese city: after a soft opening with the DJ set by Akeemtook the stage Laila Al Habash which enchanted the audience with its fusion of electronic sounds, Middle Eastern influences and poetic lyrics, providing moments of pure magic.
Following the extraordinary and eclectic talent made in X Factor by Sarafinewhose powerful voice and exciting performances won over the Festival audience, with choirs and dances transforming the square into a large open-air disco.
He gave us the grand finale of the evening The List Representativethe duo composed of Veronica Lucchesi And Dario Mangiaracinawhich made us dance, sing and even sweat despite the no longer mild temperatures, with the Sardinian hit “Ciao Ciao” and the summer hit “Amare”. To a great surprise they then presented the latest single which had just been released “The city on top of you”, a piece with a rock sound that tells in an exploding intimacy the pain and nostalgia that have repercussions in the social and cultural discomfort of big cities.
Precisely regarding the piece, Veronica and Dario say that “The City On You it is a video game in which the protagonist is imprisoned. The cityas well as certain social patterns, as well as certain of our thoughts, it could be a cagecan force you into the same dynamics, reiterate the same models, put you face to face with the same monsters on a daily basis.
It is when we already feel defeated, despite fighting, that we find ourselves mute, with our desires torn to pieces, not listened to, misunderstood. And the city reflects nothing other than this defeat. This song is a starting point, it is a pretext to tell others too situations in which we felt incorporated, devoured. One moment happy, the next imprisoned with freedom denied, our choice controlled, our peace bombed”, says the duo.
Then he adds: “The song talks about when you feel a turmoil inside, when you find yourself inside a vortex and the confusion is reflected in the perception of what surrounds you: even the city, with its stimuli and its beauty, can collapse on you , it can be a weight that adds to what you feel inside.
Making music saves us anyway. Look for the beautyfinding a way to resolve those inner turmoils, flying by exploiting the dangerous vortices that pass through us, resisting the urge to throw ourselves down, love, give ourselves the chance to build. In our music we always look for poison and its antidote.”
And the evening of September 26th was truly a panacea of adrenaline and freedom that signed theThe beginning of the season of musical events of our city, from the outdoors for a few more weeks, and then catapulted into the season of concerts in clubs and arenas, both here in Milan and around our beautiful Peninsula.
The choice of the Trainline app to organize a festival in a train station is therefore not accidental: the train, in fact, is increasingly seen as a sustainable and convenient travel alternative. According to research carried out by SWG for Trainline, on the 58th% of Italians consider the train the most convenient means of transport of all. Furthermore, the train is ideal for reaching musical events and leisure destinations; in fact, according to a recent YouGov study for Trainline, 50% of those interviewed choose the train as a preferred means of transportation to attend musical events. And how will you reach the next destination of the concert that awaits you?
