“Dogz Of Oz Tour 2024” – Toto’s Fourth Time At Lucca Summer Festival
Toto, a successful band since the 70s, performed last night in front of 8 thousand spectators in Piazza Napoleone.
Last night was the penultimate evening scheduled for the Lucca event and was sold out.
There are few bands in the world that have been able to create a stronger bond with the Italian public than Toto. Steve Lukather and his band have cemented this relationship over the years with songs that first dominated the charts and then became legendary.
Among these, present in the setlist are “Hold the line“, “99“, “Georgy Porgy“ up to the grand finale with “Rosanna” and “Africa” sung entirely together with the Lucca audience.
The lineup has undergone numerous changes over the years, but guitarist Steve Lukhater and keyboardist David Paich (founding members in 1976 along with brothers Steve and Jeff Porcaro, Bobby Kimball and David Hungate) are still part of it today, with singer Joseph Williams and session musicians John Pierce, Shannon Forrest and Greg Phillinganes and Warren Ham.
Marcus Miller: For the Fifth Time Protagonist at Summer
Marcus Miller is now “Lucchese by adoption“: protagonist at the Summer for the fifth time, twice at the Teatro del Giglio and teacher for a “lectio magistralis“ at the “Boccherini“ Conservatory. Musician, composer and producer, he collaborated for a long time with the great Miles Davis, playing but also composing with him and producing six albums, including the masterpiece “Tutu“, when Miles trusted practically no one.
Miller has been the undisputed number one on the electric bass for many years and has also met with public and critical acclaim as a soloist, winning a Grammy. In addition, Fender, which manufactures the bass used by Miller, has named one of its most famous jazz basses after him.
His concert was much appreciated by the festival audience who accompanied his songs several times with ecstatic handclaps.
